Tork Empla is a bit skinny for someone in the military and is not nearly as strong. However, is intellect more than makes up for this downfall. He has a fair face and a long scar behind his left ear that he received when he was a child.
Background:
Growing up on Corulag with his parents was quite enjoyable. Tork had everything he could ever need and want. They felt comfortable in the Empire and lived off the abundance that its economy provided. As a youngling Tork showed himself to be somewhat of a prodigy. He took household items apart and put them together again with great ease. When he was a teen he built his own small transport and would race it with his friends. However, as it always seems to go, this life was not meant to last.
At the age of 18, before he left for the Corulag University, a small rebel band stirred up trouble near the shoppe Tork and his parents were in. As they were leaving the shoppe, a bomb that the rebels had planted exploded. His mother quickly jumped to cover Tork from the blast and was riddled with shrapnel. She blocked all but one piece which slit the back of his head behind his left ear and the shockwave from the blow knocked him out cold. When he finally came to, Tork discovered that his world would never be the same.
Tork's mother was dead, killed by the shrapnel that she had protected her son from. His father was now crippled and restricted to a wheel chair. Tork's father, now plagued with revenge and anger, left his civilian job as an engineer to build weapons for the Empire. Tork, also wrought with pain from the incident, refused to go to the University and instead stayed with his father and learned everything he could from him.
As more news of other rebel attacks across the Empire wafted into Tork's ear over the years, he grew more and more agitated. He continued learning from his father and grew immensely in his skills of piloting and engineering. He would start tinkering around with engine designs and they would perform better. He was becoming an inventor.
Time continued on and at the age of 26 news of a small rebel fleet blockading the planet spread. Shortly an Imperial Fleet arrived and destroyed the rebels but not without some losses. That's when Tork felt his calling. It was at that moment that Tork realized if the rebels could not fly to their destinations than they could not spread their fear and terrorism. It was at that moment that Tork realized the Imperial Navy needed his piloting skills, needed his inventions, needed him.
After explaining himself, Tork's father swelled with pride. With a long and sorrowful goodbye he left Corulag for the first time and headed for Coruscant and the Imperial Navy Headquarters. After a year of Training he was ready to serve until a spot in Research and Development opened to him. He didn't expect it to take long and his ideas were already swarming in his head. The Empire's navy would soon be at it's strongest and his father would soon see the revenge he wanted. As for Tork, he planned on ridding the galaxy of the rebellion so that other mothers would not have to make the same sacrifice that his did.
