Physical Description: Magnus Kefka is a relatively tall human in outstanding shape for his age. Regular action over the years has kept his reflexes sharp and body tough. As the years have gone by more and more grey has creeped into his short cropped hair and well trimmed beard. Only his eyebrows retain the majority of their original jet black coloring. Kefka’s eyes change in tint slightly depending on his mood, from a light blue when amused to a steel grey when serious or angry. However his eyes are typically hidden behind special shades designed to increase ambient light somewhat to make up for a slight night vision deficiency as a result of his partial Hapan ancestry. Magnus’ gruff, serious demeanor and devotion to duty can put off many non-military people, which may or may not be its purpose.

Background: Born out of wedlock to the young ruler of a minor Hapan house, young Magnus’ life was less than ideal. His mother died shortly after his birth, and the rest of the family banished the half-breed to military school, followed by the Hapan military. There a deep seated resentment for the nobility amongst the masses was made apparent to the young man, and without the protection of his family, he became the outlet others had looked for.

Kefka found he had to work three times as hard as the others just to receive the same recognition, something that became old really quickly. He was driven to excel, an early manifestation of his trademark stubbornness regarding success. Finally, after completing an enlistment with the Hapan Army Magnus decided he was done with Hapan society. Sick of it entirely, he collected what was rightfully his from the family and departed the Cluster.

The half-Hapan wandered the galaxy a bit, eventually settling on his father’s Homeworld of Corellia just in time for the Clone Wars. A rare human enlistee in the Army of the Republic, he first found his niche as an armorer, feeding his curiosity with weapons and armor. Eventually, as the war moved on he joined the army itself, fighting in some of the last battles before the end of the conflict.

Kefka would spend twenty-years serving the Empire as an enlisted man, working his way up the ranks. At the time of the insurrection, Magnus was serving as a Battalion Sergeant Major for Major Arthorn Blackkon, and Blackkon’s battalion, nicknamed the Blades. Caught on Kuat during that time, the battalion went to ground and fought hard in small groups for three months before stealing a transport from the traitors and returning to Coruscant. The Major was severely wounded in that last engagement, and pulled from active duty. As a gift for his friend, Blackkon got in contact with his superiors during his rehabilitation and saw to it that Kefka received a commission, and command of the battalion.

Suddenly thrust into the officer’s world, Magnus was forced to adapt quickly to his newfound position. He made himself and the battalion known as hard-fought veterans to their superiors, ones early to volunteer for whatever action was necessary. Since the reformation, turnaround between action has been quick, their only real downtime being time spent on training, developing new tactics to fight new battles.

Kefka recently received yet another promotion, again thrusting him into a new role of command. He currently strives to make the most of this new authority to better the Army and the Empire.

In the ever swirling events at the Heart of the Empire, Magnus Kefka has somehow gravitated to the action. As the needs of the Empire changed and his superior's became busier and busier, Magnus was assigned more responsibility himself. Anxious to make a large scale impact at long last, the half-Hapan jumped at the chance.

The responsibilities mounted as Executor Centurion retired, leaving Kefka's commanding officer in charge of the entire military. Just settling into his latest position of responsibility, the older officer now found himself placed in command of the entire Imperial Army. Feeling a bit flustered with his rapid advancement, the General did his best to accept it and run with his newfound authority.
